Exmoor has lovely scenery, from rolling wooded hills to wild moorland, sweeping down to dramatic cliffs along the beautiful coast.

There are endless opportunities for walking, cycling, riding or exploring by car. 



The Blackdown Hills

A short distance to the South, this range of hills provide lots of opportunities for exploring and enjoying the 'great outdoors'.


Quantock Hills

These are designated as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' .

There are lovely walks in wooded combs or on open moorland, with stunning extensive views across the Estuary to Wales, or inland across Exmoor.


The Somerset Levels

This is a very special area of wetland, including many nature reserves. There are a huge network of footpaths and tracks for walking and cycling.

You have a good chance of seeing or hearing rare birds. Bittern can be heard 'booming' in the Spring.  During the winter months there are many chances to see the amazing sight of thousands of Starling coming down to the reeds to roost. Marsh Harrier and Peregrine Falcon are some of the birds of prey often seen on the Somerset levels. Otter have returned to the rivers.

An excellent garden, especially stunning in the Spring.

Dunster Castle, Near Minehead.

A great day out, with Dunster village and surrounding parkland to explore, after visiting the lovely castle and gardens.

Montacute House is near Yeovil,


Killerton House is near Exeter.

Both offer good food and lovely gardens.

There are so many amazing places to explore that are just a short car journey from Waterrow.

Wimbleball and Clatworthy reservoirs are good places for walking, boating and bird-watching.

Exmoor has lovely scenery, with endless opportunities for walking, cycling, riding or exploring by car. 

There are the friendly little towns like Dulverton and Bampton.

Quaint Exmoor villages include Exford, Winsford and Withypool.

Both the North coast and the South coast can be reached in less than an hour.

Popular seaside resorts include Minehead, Brean and Lynmouth on the North Coast. Lyme Regis, Exmouth and Dawlish Warren are a few beaches within easy reach on the South coast.

The South West Coastpath provides a fantastic opportunity for coastal walking, with most of the sections in Devon and Somerset accessible as day trips from this area.
