Summer Barbecue

The weather was quite kind to us and one lady from Wiveliscombe said she had never seen such an impressive spread of food. Those few that came, said what a friendly event it was, and it was lovely to welcome two new families who have moved into the area. What a pity it was that they did not get a better impression of the community spirit of the area. Considering that this is Chipstable Parish Hall it was disappointing that there were no local people at all; other than those on the committee who had come and worked so hard to make the day a success. Events such as the barbecue are held to raise necessary funds to keep the hall open and if the support from the community is not there the question needs to be asked 'do you want a hall at all?'
