Take a Trip on the Waverley 9th June 2006

Coach will pick up at Waterrow 2.30pm, Wivey 2.45pm. Boat leaves Minehead at 4.00pm,

for a cruise to Porlock Weir and back at 7.45pm. Coach to Lowtrow Cross for Supper, cold Cheese and Ham Ploughman's at 5.95p a per head. Coach leaving Lowtrow Cross at 8.30 pm for return to Waterrow and Wivey.

Update: A lovely hot sunny day, very well supported by parishioners, visitors and friends, £2000.82 net of expenses raised for the Hall

10th to 18th September

Over three days there will be events in Waterrow and Chipstable including a Flower Festival and Exhibition in Chipstable Church, evening musical event at Chipstable, exhibition in the Church Hall at Waterrow and an afternoon event at Manor Mill.

    Waterrow -- Monday 1oth, 11th & 12th September: 10am -4pm  local Arts and Crafts Exhibition in the Church Hall.

Entries very welcome --age no barrier -- share your Talents.

"Once upon a time..."Story telling at Manor Mill combined with an art workshop and face painting, Light Refreshments.

A not too challenging walk in the parish is being arrange for this *Sunday, please reserve the date everyone welcome -- the walk will start from the lay-by opposite Waterrow Touring Park at 2pm

(8 walkers and 4 dogs set out bravely in pouring rain for what turned out to be a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon walk-- another walk is in the planning -- we will order up   some good weather this time!)

Garden Visit to Marwood Hill          nearBarnstable                 

20 acre garden with 3 lakes. Extensive collection of rare flowering shrubs, rock and alpine scree; waterside planting; bog garden; many clematis; Australian native plants. National collections of Astilbe, Iris ensata, Tulbaghia. Plants for Sale.  Teas in the Church Room near-by.

Report

The comfortable coach took just over an hour to reach Marwood. The weather was ideal and the gardens beautiful -- a riot of colour. We enjoyed our picnic lunches beside the lakes, and in the afternoon cream teas of amazing size and quality were available in the Village Hall

We raised £80 for Waterrow Church & Community Hall Funds.

Mr Stephen Phillips won the star prize in the draw.
